Mark is responsible for developing strategic direction for motorcycle rider and vocational driver policies and services in the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). His role covers a wide spectrum of motorcycle and vocational testing and training activities, from advice provided to the Secretary of State to that given to test candidates. He develops changes in policy and products and is responsible for standards, new initiatives and projects relating to rider and vocational training and testing.

Studied business at Heriot-Watt University 1983-1987. Completed a doctorate between 1987 and 1990, during which time I joined Shell International Petroleum Maatschappij as a graduate in their global Materials department. I worked a number of roles before leaving to join the export logistics department of Maersk in 1993. In 2002, I joined Scottish Courage as Warehouse Manager in their Edinburgh depot, moving to become Fleet Manager and then Distribution Manager at their Livingston RDC in 2005. Following acquisition by Kuehne+Nagel. I moved into the role of Operations Training Manager in 2007, the role I currently hold.
