David helped support the initial set up of the register and is fully committed to working with current and potential registered centres to help improve the standard of instruction offered to drivers of the future.
He is hugely passionate about the industry and genuinely wants to make a difference and his experience in the transport sector spans over twenty five years. Since his humble beginnings as a delivery driver, he has held a variety of roles for major 3PL companies, including Transport Management, Warehouse Operations Manager, Regional Trainer, Compliance Auditor and LGV Driving Instructor. He has also had extensive exposure to complex industry based negotiations involving senior union officials and Director level management.
David’s industry knowledge is broad and he holds a Certificate of Professional Competence for Transport Manager (Road Haulage), an ISO9001 Lead Auditor and is an LGV Driving Instructor (train the trainer).

Since 1998, John has been at the forefront of the development of modern, vocational training and development in the transport and logistics sector.
Working with employers, trade bodies, DVSA, training providers and awarding organisations he led the development of the current range of vocational qualifications and apprenticeships used in the sector. John is committed to improving the professionalism of vocational drivers and raising public awareness of their critical role in the UK economy.
He joined the RTITB team in 2014 to work on products that support those who train vocational drivers and help employers recognise high quality. John sees the NRI as the key component in the creation of a market where buyers and providers of LGV driver training share an understanding of what ‘good’ training looks like and have the means to identify trainers who consistently deliver the required high standards and pass rates. John is part of the NRI’s Governance Committee.

Joshua has helped support the administration side of the register during its initial set-up, before moving into a permanent customer facing role in 2018.
Joshua joined RTITB, which operates the register, in 2013 and through his roles at RTITB, Joshua has gained knowledge across the materials handling equipment and LGV industry. After building up fantastic working relationships with NRI’s current customer base, Joshua is able to apply this knowledge to help current and prospective register instructors and exam centres and his role is focused solely on helping current NRI Instructors, Assessors and Exam Centres with everything they need to aid the running of their training.
In addition to his industry knowledge, Joshua holds qualifications for ISO9001 Lead Auditor, Counterbalance Lift Truck Operator and A Levels in Business & Economics. He is also looking to gain his LGV Licence in the near future.
