Following the successful reopening of 28 waiting rooms across Great Britain, DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) opened a further 93 waiting rooms on Friday 4th December 2020.
National restrictions and local lockdowns
The availability of DVSA waiting rooms will be kept under review in line with any further national or local restrictions.
Waiting room guidance
DVSA have published waiting room guidance that explains the rules for using them. The number of people allowed in each waiting room will depend on its size and the maximum number will be shown on a sign on the door.
For further guidance for vocational instructors and candidates, when using a waiting room you will need to:
Wear a face covering unless you have a good reason not to
Scan QR code or sign in
Use hand sanitiser
Wipe anything you touch before and after
Put used wipes in the bin
Keep at least 1m plus away from others in England, or 2m in Scotland and Wales
Do not eat or drink in the waiting room
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have feedback about using any of the waiting rooms.
DVSA is working to safely open up other waiting rooms around the country and will continue to work with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and other trade associations. NRI will continue to update you again when more DVSA waiting rooms can be made available safely.
