The Scottish Government announced on Tuesday 19th January that mainland Scotland would remain in lockdown beyond 31 January. You should continue to follow the Scottish Government guidance to stay at home except for essential reasons.
Some of the Scottish islands will remain at Level 3. The islands of Barra & Vatersay were moved up to Level 4 on 13 January.
These restrictions in Scotland will remain in place until at least the middle of February.
Vocational lessons
All vocational lessons must not take place in mainland Scotland or on the islands of Barra & Vatersay while the current restrictions are in place. If you live or operate on an island not in temporary lockdown or protection Level 4 you can continue to provide lessons to any of your pupils as long as they do not live in an area in lockdown or protection Level 4.
You must not travel out of mainland Scotland to give training or to take a pupil for a test.
Driver CPC training should be delivered remotely wherever possible until restrictions in Scotland are lifted. However, where necessary, essential Driver CPC periodic training can be delivered by employers to their own employees using their own trainers on their own site.
Vocational tests
All vocational tests in mainland Scotland and on the islands of Barra & Vatersay will be suspended until the restrictions are lifted.
As a result of the temporary lockdown travel restrictions, DVSA examiners are unable to travel to areas in lower levels to take vocational tests. They are suspending all tests booked in a Level 3 area, where the examiner has to travel from mainland Scotland to deliver the test, until the travel restrictions are lifted.
