One Week to Go: NRI at Talent in Logistics

The countdown has begun! The Talent in Logistics Conference & Awards 2018 event is only one week away and with our own Rich Brewer judging at the awards we cannot wait to arrive at the Telford International Centre on the 21st June for what is set to be the logistics event of the year.

The Talent in Logistics Awards ceremony aims to celebrate the silent heroes of the industry for their hard work and dedication and with 16 awards up for grabs. We are proud that Rich’s expertise in the industry has been recognised and gives him the opportunity to ensure LGV professionals are acknowledged for all they do, and as sponsor of the LGV instructor of the year award, Rich will be announcing the lucky winner on the night. You can check out the list of lucky finalists here.

Want to be there on the night? Book tickets for the award evening here.

Don’t miss out on the chance to network with industry professionals, peers and the NRI team as we exhibit in the Information Zone. Come along and chat to Rich Brewer and Josh Hazell, our Customer Care Co-ordinator, who will both be on hand to discuss the latest developments in legislation, the industry and our continued goal to helping improving the safety of drivers on the road through our Instructor standards.

Did you know you can also gain 3 CPD hours just by attending the conference? With a no-sales-pitch conference agenda, we can assure you will get the most out of the day and actually learn a thing or two along the way. NRI Supports Talent in Logistics as Awards Sponsor

We’re pleased to announce that the National Register of LGV Instructors has signed up to once again support the Talent in Logistics Awards as sponsor of the LGV Instructor of the Year award.

Now in its second year, the Talent in Logistics Conference & Awards is the only awards event dedicated to those working within the transport, logistics and warehousing industry. Held on 21st June 2018 at Telford International Centre, Shropshire, the conference includes seminars, panel discussions, live demonstrations and live competitions. The event has been designed especially for those working within a training, learning or development position and attending the conference also provides Instructors like you with 3 hours of relevant, professional CPD.

We thoroughly enjoyed being part of last year’s event, which made it an obvious choice for us to sponsor once again. NRI General Manager, Richard Brewer, was fortunate enough to be invited to act as a judge in this year’s awards finalist selection and based on the talent, we’re in for a pretty good night!

Tickets are still available for the Conference and Awards but are selling fast! We’ve managed to secure an exclusive discount especially for NRI registered Instructors to attend the conference, which expires on 31st May. For more information, contact us via email. NRI backs Talent in Logistics Conference & Awards 2018

If you’ve missed the memo, the National Register of LGV Instructors are proud to be yet again supporting Talent in Logistics Conference & Awards 2018, taking place on the 21st June 2018 at the Telford International Centre, West Midlands.

The event focuses on tackling key industry issues that NRI instructors like yourselves regularly face, whilst providing the well-deserved recognition LGV professionals rarely receive.  So, it was only right for us to again support an event that will add to your profession and up the ante for the industry!

Dealing with some resistance to learning? Hear from Melanie Luteijn FCIPD, a Training & HR Consultant from Go Further Goals, who tells you all about overcoming this resistance and how to create an environment that welcomes organisational and behavioural change. With over 20 years’ experience helping SME’s, her role in ensuring engagement amongst employees within their training & development has successfully provided these organisations with the productivity and effectiveness improvements they were craving.

The future of training can be a distant thought as an instructor, but with technological changes proactively shifting the way the industry operates, it’s important to stay in the loop and plan ahead as they significantly shape your role as an LGV instructor. On the day you will have the opportunity to do just that as you hear from the DVSA’s very own Deputy Chief Driving Examiner and Head of Rider and Vocational Policy, Mark Winn, about the future of driver training and testing. The thought-provoking panel discussion featuring Derek Wright, the People Director at Advanced Supply Chain Group (ASCG), will focus on the questions surrounding the changes that will be needed as the industry moves towards a more automated future.

Besides the advice and knowledge, what else can you gain from the conference? With an agenda that provides significant relevance to professional development, CILT UK has agreed to give all NRI Instructors and CILT UK members 3 CPD hours. If a day out of the office wasn’t a good enough reason, we believe the benefits the seminar will contribute to your profession, your role and your organisation are more than worth the investment.

Talent in Logistics is also holding an Awards ceremony celebrating the unsung heroes of the industry for their hard work and dedication that keeps the country on its feet. With 16 awards up for grabs, LGV awards included, and an upheaval of entries, the NRI’s very own Rich Brewer was approached to be a judge for this years’ awards. We are proud that Rich’s expertise in the industry has been recognised and gives him the opportunity to ensure LGV professionals are acknowledged for all they do by being named LGV Driver, LGV Instructor, Transport Manager or LGV Driver Training Provider of the Year – just to name a few. Keep an eye out for the finalist shortlist which will be officially announced by the 1st May 2018!

Tickets are also quickly selling out, so if the opportunity to expand your knowledge, skills and your CPD hours hearing from only the best in the industry makes this event unmissable for you, book your tickets here today. If you are still in need to hear more about the event, you can find out more from the Talent in Logistics website, here.
